AIM News 11/2003 - AIM Workers Converge in Europe
AIM Workers Converge in Europe
by Kris Smith (AIM Coordinator)
At least once a year I get the wonderful opportunity to visit at least one of our current AIM fields and see their work. Getting to experience life on those AIM fields, meeting the people mentioned in their newsletters, worshipping with the church and visiting with the missionary in that culture has some important benefits, especially when forming new teams to match that field. It would be awesome to visit each field, but time and money make that pretty difficult.
Recently Barb and I were able to do the next best thing - visit five AIM teams all at once! In November the 40th annual Euro/American Family retreat was held in Garmish, Germany. This is a retreat designed for missionaries and American military families in Europe. It provided the perfect opportunity to gather all of the AIM students from Europe in one place and spend some great time together. Teams came from Scotland, England, France, Croatia, Ukraine and even one student from Japan! There were 19 AIMers in all.
It proved to be a wonderful time to renew friendships and swap stories of how God is working in each others
