Dedicated to Being Disciples
The AIM Class of 2003 Arrives
There is a bustle and commotion once again in west Texas as we welcome the 41st AIM class to Lubbock. Months of prayer and preparation have culminated with the arrival of 50 new students -- 30 young women and 20 young men -- with a common goal and purpose to live a life dedicated to being disciples of Christ, as well as making disciples.
As always, there are some unique characteristics about this class. They come from 19 different states, as well as one foreign country, to be equipped for a lifetime of ministry, and to develop a "mission mindset." These new students have all been called to the same purpose and goal, which is to glorify God in all that they do and to teach the saving power of the blood of Christ and the unsurpassable love and mercy recieved through having an intimate relationship with Him. The class includes three students whose parents were AIMers and seven siblings of current or past AIM students. In addition, two of the new AIMers are related to a member of the very first AIM class in 1973. They and their classmates continue in the heritage of a long line of past AIMers. Sooner than they realize, they themselves will be passing the torch to the next generation not only of AIMers, but of the church as a whole.
All 50 of this year's students are in for many surprises. There will be good times, but it is also inevitable that tough times will be shared. We ask you to pray for peace, perseverance, and most of all for love as this class gains confidence in God
